The verdict
This later GT 640 kept the familiar name while swapping to GK208 and GDDR5 on a narrower bus. It is an interesting example of why the suffix and memory type matter more than the badge alone: period testing found a different balance from the original DDR3 card.
GPUsed Legend Rating
3.0 /10Our editorial rating of its legacy and character. It is separate from benchmark performance and is not an audience vote.

Gigabyte documents 2GB GDDR5 and a 64-bit bus; the source does not itself name GK208. The first-hand retailer record explicitly prints GK208 for this example board; the original tested SKU remains unknown.
A board-specific test SKU is not supplied with this profile. It identifies the recorded GPU variant; a particular card’s dimensions, cooler and power connections need their own check.
