GPUSED’S TAKE

The verdict

The 4GB DDR3 GT 740 looked generous on a specification sheet, but it kept the slower memory technology of the basic GT 740. That makes it a useful reminder to check memory type before assuming that a bigger VRAM number means the stronger version of a card.

Release scope
United States; an exact 4GB DDR3 EVGA retail listing contains a purchaser review dated 8 July 2014, demonstrating availability by that month, not a first global sale.

The cited exact memory configuration is documented; GPUsed did not retain the tested partner-board SKU.

A board-specific test SKU is not supplied with this profile. It identifies the recorded GPU variant; a particular card’s dimensions, cooler and power connections need their own check.
