GPUSED’S TAKE

The verdict

The 2GB HD 4890 was a late, generously equipped version of AMD's fastest single-GPU HD 4800 card. Sapphire's Vapor-X board was documented in shops in July 2009; it is a single HD 4890, not one of the dual-GPU X2 cards with a similar 2GB label.

Release scope
Japan; Sapphire Vapor-X 2GB single-GPU card priced in shops by 18 July

Contemporary shop reporting identifies the single-GPU Sapphire Vapor-X HD 4890 with 2GB GDDR5. It is not an HD 4870 X2; GPUsed's board SKU is unknown.

A board-specific test SKU is not supplied with this profile. It identifies the recorded GPU variant; a particular card’s dimensions, cooler and power connections need their own check.
