GPUSED’S TAKE

The verdict

Sapphire's 6GB HD 7970 GHz Edition Toxic took a fast Tahiti refresh to an unusually lavish extreme. Contemporary tests showed a formidable card, but its doubled memory capacity was a specialised luxury rather than a fresh performance class.
