GPUSED’S TAKE

The verdict

The HD 7870 XT hid a cut-down Tahiti chip behind a midrange name, making it closer to an HD 7950 than an ordinary Pitcairn 7870. Independent tests found strong speed for its tier, though the confusing label made the distinction easy to miss.

PowerColor HD 7870 MYST Tahiti LE 2 GB first listed by Newegg on 11 December 2012

Club 3D-authored specification for CGAX-7876XT identifies the Tahiti LE chip, 1536 stream processors and 2048 MB GDDR5. This is the HD 7870 jokerCard XT identity, distinct from standard Pitcairn HD 7870 boards.

A board-specific test SKU is not supplied with this profile. It identifies the recorded GPU variant; a particular card’s dimensions, cooler and power connections need their own check.
